Durack River Crossing

The Durack River Crossing is one of the major ones along the Gibb and high water levels can cut access along the Gibb. It is quite exciting at the beginning of the season so make sure your car can handle it. The Durack River flows well into the dry season at the bottom of a steep hill on the eastern side and has a rather sandy bottom.  Going east, the road gets less wide and more windy until Home Valley Station.
